What a summer it has been! It started out on the right foot (get it?) with our Walk on June 1. We had over 200 walkers at Lac Lavon Park in Burnsville and together we raised over $46,000! Praise God! Thanks to everyone who helped us exceed our goal.
Then we had 80 high school students serve at Amnion July 12-13. They were in Minneapolis for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod National Youth Gathering and Amnion was one of their service project sites. These young people made many fleece baby blankets that will be handed out to the mothers we serve. What a blessing! It was a privilege to encourage these students to support life by supporting their own local pro-life pregnancy center.
We praise God for our Walk and walkers, our faithful donors, and our many volunteers. Because of you we are able to offer the hope of Jesus Christ to the people who walk through our doors, people like Shawna (not her real name).
Shawna walked into Amnion uncertain about the choice she would make regarding her pregnancy. Many obstacles seemed to make the way forward difficult, including relationship struggles and practical needs. After working with one of Amnion’s client advocates, she chose life for her baby and signed up for the “Healthy Relationships” classes. After completing all 3 sessions, she stated, “It helped me shift my thinking to the purpose God has for mankind. These classes are helpful for a mom and really made me think.”
What an honor to be used by God to impact the “Shawnas” of the world! You help make that happen. Would you prayerfully consider giving a special gift at this time so we can continue providing hope and help to those impacted by an unplanned pregnancy?
Finally, I invite you to our Fundraising Banquet and Auction on Friday, October 25. It will take place at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville. It’s a wonderful evening of inspiration and fellowship. Registration opens September 1. I hope to see you there!
With deepest gratitude,
